Textile Laboratory
At Petratex we are proud to have an in-house textile laboratory, a key department in our production, that provides a quick and efficient service to our customers. Brands trust us to evaluate the quality and conformity of fabrics, knits and accessories.
On a daily basis, we do around 100 tests that verify compliance with client requirements or certification standards in order to guarantee the quality of the final product. Among these tests, we are able to measure the width, weight, peeling, material resistance, pH measurement, seam strength, colour fastness, shrinkage and garment behaviour on use.

OUR EQUIPMENT
- Spectrophotometer for readings and colour comparison.
- Precision scales for weighing.

- Magazine machines to identify physical defects in fabric rolls or meshes.
- Knit relaxing machine.
- Washing and drying machines for shrinkage testing.
- Appropriate equipment to assess colour fastness: washing, water, perspiration, light, friction, etc... and colour migration to other fibres.
- Wearability and resistance testing machines: pilling, abrasion, traction, as well as seam strength.
- Light cabin: D65 and TL84 TL83, UV, etc... – for different evaluations in a pre-set light.
- pH measurement.
- Assess phenolic yellowing
- Assess the waterproofing or repellency of an article.
