Repair and Replacement

Circular fashion as a potential solution to textile waste.

The improvement of sustainable practices in the Fashion Industry often begins with rethinking how garments are produced and further repurposing them, meaning how we can prolong their life without continuing to produce waste.

Extending the life of garments is a crucial pillar of the circular system and is often accomplished by repairing these pieces.

At Petratex we believe that the repair of garments is at the core of sustainable fashion.

In our facilities, we have a sector dedicated to prolonging the life of garments by increasing their useful life. We receive used garments that need repair and we take care of them. This a service that our customers can offer to make pieces become more durable and, therefore, more sustainable.

A new life for garments by replacing zippers, replacing linings, repairing holes/rips, sewing on a button, replacing snaps, hemming, repairing elastic/bias tapes, repairing velcro, changing elastic bands, redesign the damaged components, and dyeing with mineral dyes.

REPAIR

A new lease of life for your wardrobe:

  • Replace a clasp.
  • Replace a lining.
  • Repair a hole/tear.
  • Sew a button.
  • Replace a spring.
  • Make a hem.
  • Repair an elastic/bias tape.
  • Repair a Velcro.
  • Change an elastic band on the strap.
RESIZING

One of the main causes is that sometimes clothes do not offer the most suitable fit in terms of final appearance and/or comfort.

Also, there are ongoing natural risks like weight loss, muscle gain, etc.

The solution to this problem is therefore: resize.

Thanks to 3D technology, we specialize in resizing garments to adapt them to your body shape and size.

If your wardrobe is full of clothes that no longer fit, let us help you find solutions for your favorite clothes.

SUSTAINABLE FINISH IN FINISHED PIECE

Dye:

  • Use mineral ink only for pastel colors.
  • Use of dyes derived from agricultural crop residues.
FINISHES used mainly in DENIMS:

E-FLOW - Instead of using enzymes in a bath ratio of 1:10 (i.e. 10 liters of water to treat 1 kg of parts), a spray is used, with a bath ratio of 1: 1. : 3 (which means 3 liters of water to treat 1 kg of parts), therefore, a reduction in the consumption of water and enzymes!!

OZONE (O3) - Indigo oxidation to lighten the color - "bleach" effect (light blue denim), using ozone, which is a more environmentally friendly gas that consumes less water, instead of sodium hypochlorite (bleach).
