On-Demand

Fashion with a purpose

Textile overproduction is one of the most pressing issues facing the fashion industry, a problem that has been amplified in recent years by the rapid growth of fast fashion.

Given the negative environmental impact of this model, made-to-order production—or, more precisely, on-demand production—emerges as a more sustainable alternative. By producing only what is actually needed, this model directly addresses one of the fashion industry’s greatest environmental challenges: overproduction.

THE BENEFITS OF ON-DEMAND PRODUCTION IN FASHION

  1. Reduces overproduction;
  2. Possibility of totally green production;
  3. Reduction of the energy carbon footprint;
  4. Reduction of the carbon footprint in transport;
  5. Greater adaptability of garments;
  6. Conscious and ethical fashion;
  7. Less waste.

But what is on-demand production?

On-demand is the production method in which parts are produced in response to customer need - meaning that orders can be manufactured to specific requirements.

The aim of on-demand production is to reduce the overproduction of garments, which consequently reduces the carbon footprint and becomes a more sustainable solution.

How it works?

  • On-demand “piece to piece”, as the name suggests, we produce the pieces one by one, in specific quantities and in a certain period of time chosen by the customer. Provides faster service and delivery.
  • On-demand “one-shot” – production takes place within a certain time frame. Consumer orders are grouped for that production period, and as such, all orders are produced at once. Any other orders will only be executed in the following time interval.

The one-shot represents an even more sustainable form of production, as, depending on the time of year (eg Summer), the garments can be made in a totally green production unit that would make the most of the direct sunlight that we receive from our solar panels.
