Pleats
The art of the Pleat.
Pleats escape the ephemeral world and join another, more durable and solid and often unusual and fun. And this without losing their apparent fragility and beauty.
At Petratex it is possible to make all kinds of pleats: while some can be extraordinarily complex and fanciful, others can take on more conventional shapes.
With regard to this method, the pleats can be made either manually or in an automatic machine, using sheets of Kraft paperboard: the fabric is placed between two cardboard molds and is gradually molded into the desired shape before being transported to the oven to finish the process of fixing the pleats.

Manual pleats
- Maximum Length: 2mts.
- Maximum width: 1.5mt.
Accordion Pleat
- Manual pleats
- Maximum length: 1.5mts.
- Maximum width: 1mt.
Pleated in Roll
- Made by applying steam.
- Maximum width: 1.5mt.
One type of pleat
For raw materials with a composition equal to or greater than 70% Polyester.
Fluted pleats for a permanent effect
- On panel.
- Maximum width: 150cm.
- No use of steam.
For synthetic and real leather
Steam-based fixing at temperatures up to 150ºC.
Fancy pleats on panel
- Steam-based fixing at temperatures up to 150ºC.
- Maximum width: 1.5mt.
- Different styles of pleats.
- For raw materials with a composition equal to or greater than 70% Polyester.
Crystal pleat
- Maximum width: 1.2mt.
