PETRATEX TRAINING PROGRAM

One of Petratex's main objectives is to support and promote specialized training in the field of the textile industry through a set of diversified and specific training programmes.

Our training program also includes several cooperation protocols with Portuguese schools and universities that integrate students from areas related to the textile industry in our teams, offering a valuable knowledge in the area of the textile industry and numerous learning opportunities.

PETRATEX: A LAUNCH RAMP FOR EMPLOYMENT

PETRATEX was founded in 1989.

Its long implementation in the market has allowed it to acquire a leading position in the world of textile manufacturing, but also to create a strong identity as a center of knowledge and training, fostering an innovative educational dimension in the industry. In partnership with MODATEX and the Penafiel Employment Center, PETRATEX defines itself, once again, as an innovative player, through the creation of a project in the field of training oriented towards the Textile Industry.

The aim of this project was to give young people the opportunity to be part of an integrated training strategy and acquire a set of skills aligned with the needs of the market and the company, which will facilitate their integration into the job market.

The opening session of this new course took place on December 2, 2014 and was officially attended by 20 trainees. The course used the modular training method, with a total of 695 hours of training, divided into three different modules. Since it was taught in-house and included various learning tools (including resources and activities) that could be used by the trainees, the course gave them the chance to experience closer interaction with other Petratex workers and managers.

The final selection process was supported by reports, interviews and technical tests aimed at gauging the level of technical know-how acquired by the trainees during the course. PETRATEX and its partners sought to explore and implement a wide range of learning opportunities to prepare new professionals and offer them the chance to take the first secure steps in their careers.

In the haute couture and ready-to-wear industry, it is the pattern maker who brings the piece imagined by the Designer to life.

Responsible for the production of a garment, the pattern maker creates the molds from a drawing, a measurement table or a fabric fitted on a mannequin and develops the prototype, which is the basis for mass production.

Committed to continuous learning, PETRATEX offered a training program in Patternmaking that took place at our own facilities.
